A genius' strategy to fool the commons

From my observation, a genius is some guy he or she is seldom seen working, but rather always playing. Take one of my ex-roommates as an example, who was so smart on college courses that he earned quite a good GPA with little hardship. He always played on some computer softs or watched movies during the free time, which we, the common students cherished so much and was spent on doing homework and reviewing. When tests get closed, things turn to be different. My roommate began working on the course. He read references, did piled homework and also searched extra information from library and internet. He could master his time with so high efficiency that the level he grasped the knowledge from the course was increasing hour by hour, and soon he reached and even surpassed us.
So, as a common people, persons like him is really making us down. One may also wonder, what if a genius always works hard like before the test? Actually, this question may touch to the ankle of an invulnerable genius. A genius may only focus on something he or she has strong passion to. And this passion may sustain shortly before it faded rapidly. In the previous example, my roomate may success only via using his passion at the end term, because otherwise his passion would have quickly been run out.
In conclusion, if you choose a genius pattern, you should find something drives a long long passion; if you choose a common pattern, do not feel upset and unfair, because you have the stronger endurance and a broader job category to choose.

Going to see the dentist

I have been under the battle with my gingival bleeding for about 5years! During all these days at war I have tried many ways to attack, such as different tooth brushes, luxurious tooth paste, using tooth string, brush with warm water and so forth. However, little use was of all these strategies though I have learned something on many basic daily matters.

Brush gently. This is absolutely the most crucial principle. I really thought I know it long before, but the fact is I still brush much too brutally. For gentleness, one needs to brush at most 2 teeth at a time. This can make the brush press specifically on a small area avoiding hurting the other parts by not suiting the curvature. And also for gentleness, one has to brush for a longer time before you think it is enough. Actually maybe many people think they have done with teeth-brushing only by feeling each part of the teeth is touched. But rushing is not brushing. Sometimes you may not brush well even though your gingival is bleeding.

Do not trust the advertise men. When I was at BNU as an undergraduate, some dental clinic came to promote their service and set up a table to receive inquiries in our campus. I went to them and ask why my gingival bleeds easily. What they answered was "it is hard to determine because many factors cause gingival bleeding. Leukemia or other blood diseases, lacks of regular scaling teeth in clinics, not using strings after meals, bad nutrition condition, to name only a few they mentioned." So what they meant, to be short was we now cannot tell and only you came to our clinic can we tell you what is your matter. But of course, you may have to check all these possible reasons (maybe a spinal puncture is needed) and buy all kinds of their products. At last they may serve you with a tiny piece of paper writing 'Brush gently' as a kind new year's bonus.

Luckily, I came across with a good dentist today. He asked whether I want to scale my teeth, which costs over 100 bucks. Cause I want to prevail in this long battle, I'm really willing to pay that much. However, after he knew I was still a student and earned little salary, he told me that it would get similar effects if I skipped the scaling part of the treatment and only taking pills regularly. He also promised my gingival will recover soon for my young age only if I brush gently. I took the medicines and thanked him with a bow because I can't speak while biting a cotton ball in my mouth.

So, I want to suggest you guys that don't make troubles more complex. Sometimes (maybe during many times) you may just have neglected the simplest part.

What scientists do every day is solving problems

Today Mr. Lv talked with me, and to his disappointment I think, I did not prepare well for the talk. What is worse is that he thought I was kind of bad in manipulative ability. Then he began saying his thinking on scientific research career. He was a guy always wanna know the mechanism under stuffs all the way from a boy. That is why he chose to be major in physics and finally made his way into this career. He said that scientific research is bound of trouble shooting work, and this ability is quite necessary for the young to achieve via study.

So, in response to what he taught me, I began to be stick to some trouble and don't let it pass at ease. I spent several hours re-install the share printer onto my PC. This is really an annoying work, for I have to type something to try whether the previous job works. So, I nearly typed every paper that of at least little use of me to test the typewriter. To be short, it turns out that it is because my OS is too new and the HP has not prepared some specific drivers for my OS. I have to use someone HP advices me to try, and among the three possible ones, only until I tried the 3^rd one did I know which one is the right one.

But anyway, this is a process I tasted what trial-error is, and what scientific jobs are like.
